The government of Assam is conscious about the need to bring surrendered militants and those who have come to a ceasefire to the mainstream with proper rehabilitation measures. The government will take all necessary steps for imparting skill development of entrepreneurship to make them employment worthy so that these persons are rehabilitated and lead a normal life with dignity.
Swavalamban: to build the capacity of the SoO /surrendered cadres of difference insurgent groups, Home & Political Deptt has initiated a scheme ‘Swavalamban’ through which entrepreneurship & skill development will be imparted to 16000 cadres in phased manners. After successful completion of the training, bank linkage will be established for a sustainable livelihood. We have already trained 630 numbers of cadres of different outfits. The State Institute of Panchayat & Rural Development, Assam is the leading Nodal Agency for the purpose.
